SECTION 8331. Residential Storaqe Garaqes. <br /> Article 512 is hereby amended by adding a new section 512-4 to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> 512-4. Minimum Wiring. Garages Or carports accessory to <br /> dwellings or duplexes (Group I) shall be wired with a minimum of <br /> one switched light outlet and one grounding type receptacle. <br /> Said wiring, if exposed, shall be in approved metal raceways. <br /> All wiring to detached garages to be run underground. <br /> <br />SECTION 8332. Electric Siqns and O~tline Liqhtinq. <br /> Section 600-1 is amended to read as follows: <br /> 600-1. Scope. The provisions of this Article shall apply to the <br /> installation of conductors and equipment for electric signs and <br /> outline lighting as defined in Article 100. A sign circuit <br /> shall be provided and installed to an accessible location at <br /> the front of all commercial and store buildings. <br /> <br />SECTION 8333. Swimminq Pools - Junction Boxes. <br /> Section 680-5(a) is amended to read as follows: <br /> (a) Junction boxes installed on the supply side of conduits <br /> extending to underwater pool lights shall be not less than <br /> four (4) feet from the pool perimeter and not less than eight <br /> (8) inches above the ground or concrete surface. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That Article VIII of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is <br />hereby amended by adding Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 at the end thereof <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 7 - HOUSING CODE <br /> <br />SECTION 8700. Adoption of the UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1964 Edition. <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City that certain code known as <br />the UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1964 EDITION and the whole thereof, save <br />and except the APPENDIX TO HOUSING CODE, of which Code not less <br />than three (3) copies have been and are on file in the office of <br />the Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana, and said Housing <br />Code is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth at <br />length herein as provided for in Section 419 of the Charter of the <br />City of Santa Ana, and from the date on which this Chapter shall <br />take effect the provisions thereof, subject to amendments hereinafter <br />set forth, shall be in effect within the limits of the City, and <br />this Code shall be known as the HOUSING CODE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA. <br /> <br />CHAPTER 8 - HEATING AND COMFORT COOLING CODE <br /> <br />SECTION 8800. Adoption of the Uniform Heating and Comfort <br /> Coolinq Code, 1964 ~dition. <br /> <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City that certain code known as <br />the WESTERN PLUMBING OFFICIALS UNIFORM HEATING AND COMFORT COOLING <br />CODE, 1964 EDITION, and the whole thereof, save and except such <br />portions as are hereinafter amended, of which Code not less than <br />three (3) copies have been and are on file in the office of the <br />Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana, and said Code is <br />hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length <br />herein as provided for in Section 419 of the Charter of the City of <br />Santa Ana, and from the date on which this Chapter shall take effect <br />the provisions thereof, subject to the amendments hereinafter set <br />forth, shall be in effect within the City Limits and this Code <br />shall be known as the HEATING AND COMFORT COOLING CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA. <br /> <br />-21- <br /> <br /> <br />
