ORDINANCE NS-959 AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF ARTICLE IX <br />OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING SECTIONS <br />9230.80 THROUGH 9230.88 AND SECTIONS 9230.100 THROUGH <br />9230.108 AND ENACTING SECTIONS 9230.80 THROUGH 9230.90 <br />AND SECTIONS 9230.100 THROUGH 9230.110, REPEALING <br />SECTION 9247.4 AND ENACTING SECTIONS 9247.4 THROUGH <br />9247.4 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />has recommended certain amendments and revisions to the Land Use <br />Regulations of the City and the City Council has determined that <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code should be amended to incorporate <br />said amendraents and revisions; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFOP~E, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION t: That Sections 9230.80 through 9230.88 and <br />Sections 9230.100 through 9230.108 of Chapter 2, Article IX of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That Sections 9230.80 through 9230.90 and <br />Sections 9230.100 through 9230.110 are hereby enacted to become <br />a part of Part 3, Chapter 2, of Article IX of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code to read in words and figures,as follows: <br /> <br />Section 9230.80. R 3 (Medium Density Multiple-Family <br /> Residence) District. <br /> <br />Section 9230.81. Purpose. <br /> <br /> The purpose of the R 3 District is to encourage high qu~ality <br />medium density residential development through the use of usable <br />open space requirements, covered off-street parking requirements, <br />and optional side yard requirements which permit greater flexi- <br />bility in design. This zone will provide many of the desirable <br />characteristics found in the R 4 (Suburban Apartment) District <br />while permitting a density which exceeds that of the R 4 District <br />for one-story, two-story, or three-story development. <br /> <br />Section 9230.82. <br /> (a) <br /> <br /> (b) <br /> <br /> (c) <br /> <br /> Uses Permitted. <br /> <br />Ail uses unconditionally permitted in the R 1 and R <br /> <br />(d) <br />(e) <br /> <br />(f) <br />(g) <br /> <br /> 2 <br />Districts. <br />Multiple-family dwellings and apartments of a permanent <br />character placed in permanent locations. <br />Boarding houses or rooming houses accommodating not less <br />than three (3) nor more than ten (10) roomers or boarders <br />in addition to the family occupying such dwelling. <br />Fraternities or sororities. <br />Day nurseries or licensed homes for children when there <br />is provided on the lot or adjacent to the premises a <br />play lot completely fenced and containing not less than <br />fifty (50) square feet of area for each child. <br />Accessory buildings. <br /> <br />The following uses, subject to the issuance of an <br />approved Conditional Use Permit as prescribed in Part 5 <br />of this Chapter: <br /> (1) Bungalow courts; <br /> (2) Clubs; <br /> (3) Sanitariums and hospitals.; <br /> (4) Institutions supported by charity; <br /> (5) Any use conditionally permitted in the R 1 and <br /> R 2 Districts. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
