SECTION 3lA: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding Section 8-667 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-667. Adoption by reference. <br /> <br /> There is hereby adopted by the city that certain code <br />known as the National Electrical Code, 1968, and the whole <br />thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter <br />amended, of which code not less than three (3) copies <br />have been and are on file in the office of the clerk of <br />the council of the city, and said code is hereby adopted <br />and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein <br />as provided for in section 419 of the charter of the city, <br />and from the date on which this chapter shall take effect <br />the provisions thereof, subject to the amendments herein- <br />after set forth, shall be in effect within the city limits, <br />and this code shall be known as the National Electrical <br />Code, 1968, of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> SECTION 32: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by amending Section 8-785 thereof to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-785. Branch Circuits. <br /> <br /> Section 210-1 of the National Electrical Code, 1968 <br />Edition, is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 210-1. Scope. The provisions of this Article shall <br />apply to branch circuits supplying lighting or appliance <br />loads or combinations of such loads. Where motors, or <br />motor-operated appliances, are connected to any circuit <br />supplying lighting or other appliance loads, the provisions <br />of both this Article and Article 430 shall apply. Article <br />430 shall apply where branch circuit supplies only motor <br />loads. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Accessory uses or other buildings, signs, etc., <br />separately located on the same lot or premises shall <br />have connecting conductors run underground. (Agri- <br />cultural areas excepted). <br /> <br />Where spare circuit protective devices are provided or <br />space for future circuit protective devices are <br />provided on the buss in any flush or semi-flush <br />mounted panel, then raceways of sufficient capacity <br />to permit utilization of such spares or spaces shall <br />be provided to an approved accessible location. Such <br />accessible location is defined as follows: Where <br />sufficient attic space is available or underfloor <br />space is available, a raceway shall terminate <br />conveniently for future use in each such space. Where <br />this condition does not exist, then such terminations <br />shall be approved by the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />-16A- <br /> <br /> <br />
