ORDINANCE NS-1019 AMENDING SECTIONS 10-7, 10-8, AND <br />10-9 OF ARTIC~ I, CHAPTER 10 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CO~E RELATING TO USE OF PUBLIC PROPERTY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the recodification of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code there were deleted certain provisions relating to the <br />conditions of parades and permit requests therefor; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that such <br />provisions be reinserted into the Municipal Code; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by amending Sections 10-7, 10-8, and 10-9 of Article I <br />Chapter 10 thereof to read as follows: <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Sec. 10-7. Assemblages, etc. on public property; special <br /> license--Required. <br /> <br /> No person shall conduct, perform, exhibit, or take part in <br />any musical, theatrical, dramatic representation, parade, <br />procession, open air public meeting, debate, or lecture upon <br />any public street, way, park, or any land owned by the city <br />unless a Special License for such use has first been obtained <br />from the city Council, and then only in compliance with the <br />terms of such Special License. Said Special License shall be <br />in addition to any other license or permit required by this <br />Code. <br /> <br />Sec. 10-8. Same. Content. <br /> Every Special License shall be in writing and shall specify <br />the nature of the use permitted, the exact time and place of <br />such use; and,~in the case of a parade or procession, the course <br />over which such parade or procession may pass. <br /> <br /> The City Council may grant a continuing Special License when, <br />in its opinion, the same would be consisten~_~w_ith the standards <br />set out in Section 10.10 hereof and may ~e~oke any continuing <br />Special License at any time. <br /> <br /> No special license shall be required for funeral processions. <br /> <br />Sec. 10-9. Same. Application. <br /> Every person seeking a Special License required by Section <br />10-7 hereof shall file with the Clerk of the Council two (2) <br />copies of a verified application giving the following information: <br /> (a) Name and address of applicant; <br /> (b) Nature of the use requested; <br /> (c) Name and address of each musician, actor, debater, <br /> lecturer, or other persons who will take part in <br /> the proposed use of public property and the part <br /> each will perform, insofar as the same is known to <br /> the applicant; <br /> (d) A statement of the number of participants, insofar as <br /> the same is known to the applicant; <br /> (e) The name and address of the sponsoring organization and <br /> of the local office or chapter, if any; <br /> (f) The exact location and extent of public property <br /> requested for such use; <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
