ORDINANCE NS-1066 PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN T~E CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, ON THE 6th DAY OF APRIL, 1971 FOR THE <br />ELECTION OF FOUR MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, <br />GIVING NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION, DESIGNATING POLLING <br />PLACES, HOURS DURING WHICH THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN, <br />AND APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICERS TO SERVE AT SAID <br />ELECTION <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That a general Municipal Election is hereby <br />called to be held in the City of Santa Ana, California, on <br />April 6, 1971. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That there shall be 89 voting precincts, <br />several of which are single State and County precincts renumbered <br />for said Election and the rest of which consist of consolidations <br />of two State and County precincts, all consisting of territory <br />within the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That the Precinct Board of each precinct shall <br />consist of one Inspector, one Judge, and two Clerks; and that <br />said Precinct Officers shall receive the following compensation <br />for their services: Inspectors, $21.00; Judges and Clerks, $18.00; <br />owners of privately owned polling places shall receive the sum of <br />$15.00 for the use of each polling place. <br /> <br /> That the consolidated voting precincts, the polling places <br />thereof, and the Precinct Board for each such precinct shall be <br />as set out on that certain document headed "ELECTION OFFICERS AND <br />POLLING PLACES" on file in the office of the Clerk of the Council, <br />and the Boards of each such voting precinct are hereby appointed. <br />The Clerk of the Council is hereby authorized to find and appoint <br />substitutes for any election officer hereby appointed who is <br />unable or unwilling to act. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: That said Election shall be held and conducted <br />in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of <br />Santa Ana, the Constitution of the State of California, and the <br />provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California insofar <br />as the same may be applicable thereto. On the day of the Election <br />the polls shall be opened at 7:00 A.M. and shall be kept open until <br />7:00 P.M., at which time the polls shall be closed. The Clerk of <br />the Council shall prepare and cause to be published a NOTICE OF <br />ELECTION for one time; a list of names of the nominees in the order <br />in which they will appear on the Ballot and the respective offices <br />for which they are nominated once a week for two successive weeks, <br />at least 5 intervening days between the dates of publication; and <br />a notice of election officers and polling places for one time. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5: The Clerk of the Council shall prepare and cause <br />to be printed official ballots and election supplies necessary for <br />the holding of said Election as required by law, and sample ballots <br />and polling place cards, and shall provide for the mailing of the <br />same to each registered elector within the City. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
