ORDINANCE NS-1157 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OP SANTA ANA ADDING SECTIONS 41-120 and 41-622 <br />TO THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE REQUIRING THE <br />SCREENING OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT AND APPUR- <br />TENANCES ON THE ROOF AND EXTERIOR OF BUILDINGS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Aha Planning Commission held a public <br />hearing at a regularly scheduled meeting on November 27, 1972, <br />on a proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of <br />Santa Ana pertaining to the screening of mechanical equipment <br />or appurtenances on buildings which are hereafter constructed <br />or expanded; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is proposed that Section 41-120, definition of <br />mechanical equipment or appurtenances, and Section 41-622, <br />mechanical equipment or appurtenances: regulations, be added <br />to Chapter 41, Zoning, of the Santa Ana Municipal Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no public opposition appeared to protest said <br />proposed amendment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Planning Commission did reco~end <br />the adoption of said proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance <br />to the City Council by its Resolution No. 6017 on November 27, <br />1972, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />does ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. The Santa Aha Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />by adding a section to be numbered Section 41-120, which said <br />section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 41-120. Mechanical equipment or appurtenances. <br /> <br /> Mechanical equipment or appurtenances shall include air <br />conditioners, fans, compressors, refrigeration units, exhaust <br />fans, vents, tanks, stacks, duct work, furnaces, adsorption <br />units, air filters or purifiers, chimneys, gravity or rotary <br />vents, or any similar type equipment. This definition does not <br />include attractively designed and constructed residential type <br />chimneys on residential units or buildings. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: The Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />by adding a section to be numbered Section 41-622 which said <br />section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 41-622. Mechanical equipment or appurtenances: <br /> Regulations. <br /> <br /> Ail mechanical equipment or appurtenances located on the <br />roof or on the exterior of a building situated on real property <br />that is zoned or used for commercial, industrial or multiple <br />family residential (three or more dwelling units) uses, or lo- <br />cated on such real property, shall be screened. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
