ORDINANCE NS-1193 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION <br />726 INITIATED BY THE SANTA ANA PLANNING COM- <br />MISSION, AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAPS LISTED <br />IN APPENDIX "A", AND REZONING ALL OF TEE PARCELS <br />IDENTIFIED IN APPENDIX "B" FROM THEIR PP~ESENT <br />ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS TO THE "O" (OPEN SPACE <br />LAND) DISTRICT <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: The City Council declares and finds as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> A. The State of California has mandated that all cities <br />prepare an Open Space Element and this element shall contain <br />plans, maps, text describing policies, goals and objectives <br />and other documents necessary in preparing a plan by December <br />31, 1973; and <br /> <br /> B. The Planning Commission and City Council have adopted <br />an Open Space Element on November 19, 1973; and <br /> <br /> C. It was further mandated by the State that all open <br />space lands described on the adopted Open Space Plan map be <br />rezoned to an Open Space Zone (O) designation by December <br />31, 1973; and <br /> <br /> D. The Planning Department has prepared a report and <br />Environmental Impact Report and has made recommendations that <br />all parcels indicated on the Open Space Plan be rezoned to <br />the "O" classification; and <br /> <br /> E. Said report includes present zoning and ownership <br />as generally described in the Sectional District Maps of <br />Appendix "A" and specifically called out in Appendix "B" <br />which provides parcel numbers, present zoning and ownership; <br />and <br /> <br /> F. The Planning Commission found that the proposed <br />report would be consistent with the General Plan and pro- <br />vide for the preservation of open space areas within the <br />City and that the Environmental Impact Report is acceptable; <br />and <br /> <br /> G. The Santa Ana Planning Commission found and approved <br />as complete the Environmental Impact Report for said zone <br />changes; and <br /> <br /> E. The Santa Ana Planning Commission has recommended <br />approval of all said parcels to be rezoned from their present <br />classification to the "O" District as represented in Appendix <br />"B"; and <br /> <br /> I. The Planning Commission gave notice of and duly <br />held a public hearing on Amendment Application 726, initiated <br />by the Santa Ana Planning Commission, proposing to amend <br />Sectional District Maps listed in Appendix "A" and to rezone <br />all of the parcels identified in Appendix "B" and to rezone <br />said various governmental and quasi-public agency parcels <br />from their present zoning classifications to the "O" (Open <br />Space Land) District; and <br /> <br /> <br />
