ORDINANCE NO. NS-1260 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br />Section 2-101.4 Compensation <br /> <br /> The Mayor Pro Tem shall not be entitled to any additional <br />compensation over and abovethat which is his normal and usual <br />compensation as a Councilman for the City of Santa Ana. The <br />Mayor Pro Tem may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred <br />in the performance of his duties as Mayor Pro Tem. <br /> <br />Section 2-101.5 Designation <br /> <br /> once appointed by the Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tem may be <br />introduced at all public gatherings as the Mayor Pro Tem of the <br />City of Santa Ana, and shall be afforded all of the rights and <br />privileges usually afforded the Mayor in similar circumstances. <br />The Mayor Pro Tem shall be provided with credentials, letters of <br />introduction, or written authority wherever the same is required, <br />in order for him to effectively act on behalf of the City of <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Section 2-101.6 Limitations <br /> <br /> The appointment of the Mayor Pro Tem by the duly elected <br />Mayor of the City of Santa Ana shall in no manner be deemed a <br />permanent appointment of Mayor Pro Tem, nor shall said appointment <br />in any manner create any priority for future similar appointments. <br />The Mayor Pro Tem appointment shall be at the pleasure of the <br />Mayor and subject to recall by the City Council. The appointment <br />of a Mayor Pro Tem shall be limited by the Mayor in time and purpose, <br />and in no circumstance shall extend beyond that time reasonably re- <br />quired to perform the designated appearance. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: ~If any section, subsection, sentence, clause <br />phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to <br />be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of <br />competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the valid- <br />ity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares that it would have adopted <br />this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, <br />phrase or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that any one <br />or more sections, subsections, clauses, phrases or portions be <br />declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: Neither the adoption of this ordinance nor <br />the repeal hereby of any ordinance shall in any manner affect <br />the prosecution for violation of ordinances, which violations <br />were committed prior to the effective date hereof, nor be con- <br />strued as affecting any of the provisions of such ordinance <br />relating to the collection of any such license or penalty or <br />the penal provisions applicable to any violation thereof, nor <br />to affect the validity of any bond or case deposit in lieu there- <br />of, required to be posted, filed or deposited pursuant to any <br />ordinance and all rights and obligations thereunder appertaining <br />shall continue in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5: The Clerk of the Council shall certify to <br />the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the <br />same to be published in the official newspaper of the City of <br />Santa Ana within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> <br /> SECTION 6: This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) <br />days from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
