JLC:ar <br />3/12/76 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NS-1302 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 36-131, 36-138 AND 36-432 OF THE SANTA <br />ANA MUNICIPAL CODE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS TO PLACE AND MAINTAIN BLUE CURB <br />MARKINGS OR SIGNS INDICATING PARKING LIMITED <br />EXCLUSIVELY FOR VEHICLES OF PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED <br />PERSONS, AND PROHIBITING PARKING OF UNAUTHORIZED <br />VEHICLES IN PARKING AREAS DESIGNATED FOR THE <br />PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That section 36-131 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 36-131. Parking signs and curb markings, color <br />legend. <br /> <br /> The director of public works is authorized, subject <br />to the provisions and limitations of this chapter, to place <br />and maintain and, when required herein, shall place the follow- <br />ing curb markings or signs to indicate parking, standing or <br />stopping regulations and said curb markings and signs shall <br />have the meanings as herein set forth as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) Red curb markings shall mean no stopping, stand- <br />ing or parking at any time of any day except as permitted by <br />the vehicle code. <br /> <br /> (2) Yellow curb markings shall mean no stopping, <br />standing or parking between seven o'clock (7:00) a.m. and <br />six o'clock (6:00) p.m. of any day for any purpose other than <br />the loading or unloading of passengers or materials, provided <br />that the loading or unloading of passengers shall not consume <br />more than three (3) minutes nor the unloading of materials <br />more than twenty (20) minutes, and such loading or unloading <br />shall be actively carried on during all of the said time. <br /> <br /> (3) White curb markings shall mean no stopping, <br />standing or parking at any time of any day for any purpose <br />other than stopping for three minutes or less for the purpose <br />of loading or unloading of passengers, or for the purpose of <br />depositing mail in an adjacent mailbox. <br /> <br /> (4) Green curb markings shall mean no stopping, <br />standing or parking for a period of time longer than twelve <br />(12) or twenty-four (24) minutes, as designated by signs, at <br />any time between seven o'clock (7:00) a.m. and six o'clock <br />(6:00) p.m. of any day except holidays. <br /> <br /> (5) Blue curb markings or a sign consisting of a <br />profile view of a wheelchair with occupant in white on a blue <br />background posted immediately adjacent to and visible from <br />each parking space, indicates parking for the exclusive use <br />of physically handicapped persons whose vehicles display either <br />one of the distinguishing license plates issued to disabled <br /> <br /> <br />
