NS- 1394 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />ADDING CHAPTER 32 TO THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE AND REPEALING CHAPTER 38 <br />RELATING TO VEHICLES FOR HIRE <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, is hereby amended by adding <br />a chapter, to be numbered Chapter 32, which said chapter reads <br />as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 32 Vehicles for Hire <br /> <br />ARTICLEI. General Provisions <br /> <br />Sec. 32-1. Definitions. <br /> <br />For the purpose of this chapter, the words and phrases set forth <br />in sections32-1.1 through 32-1.26 shall have the meanings respec- <br />tively ascribed to them by such sections. <br /> <br />Sec. 32-1.1. Ambulance. <br /> <br />"Ambulance" shall mean any privately owned vehicle equipped or <br />primarily used for transporting the wounded, injured, sick, <br />or handicapped, and shall include, but not be limited to, <br />emergency vehicles used for such purposes. <br /> <br />Sec. 32-1.2 Attendant. <br /> <br />"Attendant" shall mean any person attending or administering <br />any aid to a person being transported by ambulance. <br /> <br />Sec. 32-1.3. Certificate. <br /> <br />"Certificate" shall mean a certificate of public convenience <br />and necessity issued by the City of Santa Ana authorizing the <br />holder thereof to conduct an ambulance business in the City. <br /> <br />Sec. 32.1.4. Compensation. <br /> <br />"Compensation" shall mean any money, thing of value, payment, <br />consideration, reward, tip, donation, gratuity or profit paid <br />to, accepted, or received by the driver, owner, attendant, or <br />all of them, of any vehicle in exchange for transportation <br />of a person or persons, whether paid upon solicitation, demand <br />or contract, or voluntarily or intended as a gratuity or <br />donation. <br /> <br /> <br />
