ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1416 <br />PAGE TWELVE <br /> <br />Sec. 8-1025. Branch-Circuit Sizing (Section 422-5). <br /> <br /> Section 422-5 of the National Electrical Code is <br />a~ended by adding a paragraph designated (c) to read as follows: <br /> <br />(c) In every dwelling unit fixed appliances, such as <br />food grinders, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, <br />laundry tray locations, built-in heaters, or any <br />other fixed appliances with 1/4 H.P. motor or larger <br />shall be on a separate branch circuit supplied by a <br />minimum No. 12 AWG Wire. Each dwelling unit shall <br />have installed therein an individual food waste grinder <br />branch circuit. Said circuit shall be supplied with a <br />minimum No. 12 AWG wire and a 15 ampere indicating type <br />switch. Said switch shall be located in the wall <br />adjacent to the sink. Food waste grinder shall be <br />wired with a minimum of No. 16 AWG 3-wire S.P.To -3 <br />thermo-plastic hard finish cord or equal and an approved <br />grounding type, cord grip cap must be used. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-1080. Scope of Article 600 (Section 600-1). <br /> <br /> Section 600-1 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended by adding a sentence thereto to read as follows: <br /> <br />A sign circuit shall be provided and installed to <br />an accessible location at the front of all commercial <br />and store buildings. <br /> <br /> SECTION 6: If any section, subsection, sentence, <br />clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held <br />to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of <br />competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity <br />of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of <br />the City of Santa hereby declares that it would have adopted <br />this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, <br />phrase or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or <br />more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions <br />be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> <br /> SECTION 7: Neither the adoption of this ordinance nor the <br />repeal hereby of any ordinance shall in any manner affect the pro- <br />secution for violation of ordinances, which violations were com- <br />mitted prior to the effective date hereof, nor be construed as affect- <br />ing any of the provisions of such ordinance relating to the collection <br />of any such license or penalty or the penal provisions applicable <br />to any violation thereof, nor to affect the validity of any bond or <br />cash deposit in lieu thereof, required to be posted, filed or de- <br />posited pursuant to any ordinance and all rights and obligations <br />thereunder appertaining shall continue in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 27th <br />day of June , 197~. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> FLORENCEI.
