Exposed Work - General (Section 336-6). <br /> <br /> Article 336 of the National Electrical Code is amended <br />by deleting therefrom Section 336-6. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-945. Devices of Insulating Material (Section <br /> 336-11). <br /> <br /> Article 336 of the National Electrical Code is amended <br />by deleting therefrom Section 336-11. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-961. Use of Electrical Metal Tubing (Section <br /> 348-1). <br /> <br /> Section 348-1 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />348-1. Use. Electrical metallic tubing may be used <br />for both exposed and concealed work. Electrical metal- <br />lic tubing protected from corrosion solely by enamel <br />shall not be used. Electrical metallic tubing shall <br />not be used (1) where during installation or afterwards, <br />it will be subject to severe physical damage; (2) for <br />installation underground or in concrete. Where prac- <br />ticable the use of dissimilar metals throughout the <br />system shall be avoided to eliminate the possibility <br />of galvanic action. (3) Electrical metallic tubing <br />shall not be used where exposed directly to the wea- <br />ther or excessive moisture. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-972. Use of Flexible Metal Conduit (Section <br /> 350-2). <br /> <br /> Section 350-2 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 350-2. Use. Flexible metal conduit shall not be used <br /> (1) in wet locations unless conductors are of the <br /> lead-covered type or of other type specifically approved <br /> for the conditions; (2) in hoistways, other than as <br /> provided in Section 620-21; (3) in storage battery rooms; <br /> (4) in any hazardous location other than permitted in <br /> Sections 501-4(b), 502-4 and 503-3; nor (5) where rub- <br /> ber-covered conductors are exposed to oil, gasoline, <br /> or other materials having a deteriorating effect on <br /> rubber; (6) for installation underground, exposed to <br /> the water, embedded in masonry, concrete, adobe, plas- <br /> ter or similar finish; (7) where exposed to physical <br /> damage. <br /> <br /> Sec. 8-1018. Fixtures in Clothes Closets (Section <br /> 410-8). <br /> <br /> Section 410-8 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended by adding a sentence designated (c) to read as follows: <br /> (c) All lighting outlets shall be operated by a wall <br /> or door switch (no pull chain lighting fixtures per- <br /> mitted). <br /> <br /> <br />
