NS-1519 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />ADDING CHAPTER 30 TO THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />DESIGNATION OF PLACES OF HISTORICAL <br />AND ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Aha Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended by adding a new chapter, to be numbered <br />Chapter 30, consisting of sections numbered 30-1 through 30- <br />5 inclusive, which said chapter reads as follows: <br /> <br />Chapter 30 <br /> <br />PLACES OF HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTUAL SIGNIFICANCE <br /> <br />Sec. 30-1. <br /> <br />Register of Historical Property. <br /> <br /> The City Council may, by resoluti6n, designate as <br />historical property any building or part thereof, object, <br />structure, monument, or collection thereof having importance <br />to the history or architecture of the City of Santa Ana in <br />accordance with the criteria set forth in section 30-2. The <br />Clerk of the Council shall maintain a register which shall <br />consist of copies of each such resolution and which shall be <br />known as the City of Santa Ana Register of Historical Property. <br />The City Council may at any time repeal, revise, or modify <br />any such resolution upon reconsideration of the historical <br />or architectual importance of the places therein described. <br /> <br />Sec. 30-2. <br /> <br />Criteria for selection <br /> <br />(a) Property may be designated as historical <br />property if it meets any of the following standards <br />of architectual significance: <br /> <br />(i) Structures or areas that embody distinguishing <br />characteristics of an architectual style, <br />period, or method of construction, or of <br />architectual development within the City. <br /> <br />(ii) Notable works of a master builder, <br />designer, or architect whose style influenced <br />the City's architectual development, or <br />structures showing the evolution of an <br />architect's style. <br /> <br />(iii) Rare structures displaying a building <br />type, design, or indigenous building form. <br /> <br />(iv) Structures which embody special architectual <br />and design features. <br /> <br /> <br />
