NS- 1519 <br />PAGE T~O <br /> <br />(v) Outstanding examples of structure displaying <br />original architectural integrity, structurally <br />or stylistically, or both. <br /> <br />(vi) Unique structures or places that act as <br />focal or pivotal points important as a key to <br />the character or visual quality of an area. <br /> <br />(b) Property may be designated as historical <br />property if it meets any of the following standards <br />of historical significance: <br /> <br />(i) Sites and structures connected with <br />events significant in the economic, cultural, <br />political, social, civic, ethnic or military <br />history of the City of Santa Ana, the County <br />of Orange, the State of California, or the <br />United States of America. <br /> <br />(ii) Structures or areas identified with the <br />lives of historical personages of the City of <br />Santa Ana, the County of Orange, the State of <br />California, or the United States of America. <br /> <br />(iii) Sites and groups of structures <br />representing historical development patterns, <br />including, but not limited to, urbanization <br />patterns, railroads, agricultural settlements, <br />and canals. <br /> <br />Sec. 30-3. Application of State Historical <br /> Building Code. <br /> <br /> Any building or structure designated as having <br />historical or architectual importance by inclusion in the <br />Santa Aha Register of Historical Property shall be deemed a <br />"qualified historical building or structure" for purposes of <br />applying the State Historical Building Code, as set forth in <br />Part 2.7 (commencing with section 18950) of Division 13 of <br />the Health and Safety Code of the State of California and <br />Part 8 of Title 24 of the California Administrative Code. <br />The Director of Building Safety is authorized to apply the <br />said State Historical Building Code to any such building or <br />structure. <br /> <br />Sec. 30-4. <br /> <br />Historical rehabilitation areas. <br /> <br /> The City Council, after public hearing noticed and <br />held in the manner prescribed by section 37628 of the Health <br />and Safety Code of the State of California, may, by resolution <br />designate any area within the City as an Historical Rehabilitation <br />Area upon finding that such area complies with one or more <br />of the following standards: <br /> <br />(i) The area constitutes a distinct section of <br />the City and has special character, historical, <br />architectual, or aesthetic interest and value. <br /> <br />(ii) The area provides significant examples of <br />architectual values of the past or landmarks in <br />the history of architecture. <br /> <br /> <br />
