ORDINANCE NO. N$-1546 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br /> SECTION 4. That Section 36-143 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 36-143. <br /> <br />Continuing Violations: <br />Additional Offenses <br /> <br /> Every person violating a sign or marking placed in <br />accordance with the provisions of Sections 36-138, 36-142, <br />36-147, or 36-147.1 which prohibits parking for longer than <br />a specified period of time is guilty of a separate and <br />further violation for each period of time that the vehicle <br />is left so parked, equal to the maximum legal parking time <br />specified by such sign marking. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5. That Section 36-193 of Article VI, <br />Chapter 36 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 36-193. <br /> <br />One-Way Streets and Alleys. <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works is authorized to post <br />signs and official traffic control devices restricting <br />vehicular traffic to one direction only, at all times or <br />during certain hours of the day, on any portion of any <br />alley, street, or specific lane on any street within the <br />City where the Council so directs by resolution, or where <br />engineering studies have been made and where the Director of <br />Public Works determines that it is necessary to facilitate <br />the safe and orderly movement of traffic. <br /> <br /> When a sign or official traffic control device <br />giving notice that vehicular traffic is so restricted is <br />place, no person shall operate a vehicle in violation of <br />such sign. <br /> <br />in <br /> <br /> SECTION 6. If any section, subsection, clause, <br />phrase or'portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held <br />to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any <br />court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not <br />affect the validity of the remaining portions of this <br />Ordinance. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance and each <br />section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion <br />thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more <br />sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or <br />portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> <br /> SECTION 7. Neither the adoption of this Ordinance <br />nor the repeal hereby of any Ordinance shall in any manner <br />affect the prosecution for violation of Ordinances which <br />violations were committed prior to the effective date hereof <br />nor be construed as affecting any of the provisions of said <br />Ordinance relating to the collection of any such license or <br /> <br /> <br />
