NS-1568 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ADDING DIVISION 10 TO <br />ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH AN ARCHITECTURAL <br />REVIEW BOARD OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, <br />is hereby amended by adding a division to be numbered 10, to <br />Article IV of Chapter 2, which said division shall consist <br />of sections to be numbered 2-641 through 2-653 inclusive and <br />which reads as follows: <br /> <br />DIVISION 10 <br /> <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD <br /> <br />Sec. 2-641. <br /> <br />Establishment of Architectural <br />Review Board <br /> <br /> There is hereby established the Architectural <br />Review Board of the City of Santa Ana, having such powers as <br />set forth in this Chapter. The said board shall consist of <br />seven members each of whom must either reside or have his or <br />her principal place of business in the City of Santa Ana. <br />Members shall be subject to appointment and removal and <br />shall serve terms in accordance with Section 901 of the <br />Charter of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-642. Scope of Authority <br /> <br /> The Architectural Review Board shall exercise its <br />powers of review and report with respect to any and all <br />development projects located within the City of Santa Ana <br />Community Redevelopment Project Area as established by the <br />Redevelopment Plan of the City of Santa Ana, as amended by <br />Ordinance No. NS-1258, adopted June 2, 1975. <br /> <br /> In addition, any power of architectural control <br />over any development project in the City which may be <br />exercised by the City Council pursuant to its control over <br />public works construction or by any contract with a <br />developer, or by the City Council or the Planning Commission <br />in connection with any application for a zoning variance, <br />conditional use permit, or similar discretionary entitlement <br />for a development project, may be delegated in whole or in <br />part to the Architectural Review Board. <br /> <br /> The administrative staff of the City of <br />shall furnish necessary support services to the <br />Architectural Review Board. <br /> <br />Santa Ana <br /> <br />Sec. 2-643. Definitions <br /> <br /> As used herein, the following terms shall be <br />construed as hereinafter set forth: <br /> <br /> (a) "Architecture" and "Architectural" refer <br />to the exterior design features of buildings and <br />accessory structures and on-site improvements, <br />including landscaping. The architectural review <br />undertaken pursuant to this Chapter shall not <br />extend to considerations of building safety or <br />zoning regulations except insofar as such <br /> <br /> <br />
