ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1624 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br />(E) Maintenance, testing and records: <br /> <br /> (1) The customer shall test and service such <br />devices at least once a year, shall maintain them in satis- <br />factory operating condition and shall overhaul or replace <br />such devices if they are found to be defective. <br /> <br /> (2) Records of such tests, service, repairs and <br />overhauls shall be kept by the customer on forms approved by <br />the Department. A copy of such records shall be sent to the <br />Department. <br /> <br /> (3) Tests shall be conducted and reported in a <br />manner prescribed by, and/or by persons certified or approved <br />by, the Department or any other agency designated by the <br />Department to prescribe test methods or to certify or approve <br />persons to conduct such tests. <br /> <br />(F) Approved backflow preventive devices: <br /> <br /> (1) As designated in Section (G), the standard <br />installation at each service connection to premises or <br />systems requiring an approved backflow preventive device, <br />shall be one of the following types: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Approved reduced pressure principle <br />backflow device [hereinafter "RP"]; <br />or <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Approved double check valve assembly <br />backflow preventive device [hereinafter <br />"DC"] <br /> <br />(G) Pr~%ises re~uirin~ approved backflow preventive <br /> devices: <br /> <br /> An approved backflow preventive device of the type <br />specified below shall be the standard installation at each <br />service connection (whether from a fire hydrant, temporary, <br />regular or other water service connection) to the following <br />types of premises or systems: <br /> <br />(1) Aircraft and Missile Plants - RP <br /> <br />(2) Automotive Plants - RP <br /> <br />(3) Auxiliary Water Systems (Interconnected) - RP <br /> <br />(4) Auxiliary Water Systems (Not Interconnected) <br /> - DC <br /> <br />(5) Beverage Bottling Plants - DC <br /> <br />(6) Breweries - RP <br /> <br />(7) Buildings greater than three (3) stories <br /> or greater than thirty-four (34) feet in <br /> height from curb level - DC <br /> <br />(8) Buildings with house pumps and/or potable <br /> water storage tank - DC <br /> <br /> <br />
