NS- 1673 <br />PAGE THREE <br /> <br /> TABLE A <br />RATING CLASSIFICATIONS <br /> <br />GENERAL USE OF BUILDING <br /> <br />RATING CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br />Essential buildings <br />High risk buildings <br />Medium risk buildings <br />Low risk buildings <br /> <br />I <br />II <br />III <br />IV <br /> <br /> For the purpose of this article, portions of buildings <br />constructed to act independently when resisting seismic <br />forces may be placed in separate rating classifications. <br /> <br /> (b) MULTIPLE CLASSIFICATIONS. Except as provided in <br />Section 8-2003.1, for the purpose of determining a rating <br />classification, a building with more than one (1) rating <br />classification shall be classified in the rating classifi- <br />cation which is the most restrictive. <br /> <br /> (c) MULTIPLE OCCUPANCIES. Except as provided in <br />Section 8-2003.1, for the purpose of determining rating <br />classifications, the total occupant load as determined <br />pursuant to Chapter 33 of the Uniform Building Code of all <br />occupancies in the building shall be used. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered 8-2003.1 which <br />said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 8-2003.1. ALTERNATE DETERMINATION OF RATING <br /> CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br /> (a) FILING OF FLOORPLAN. In lieu of utilizing Table <br />No. 33-A of Chapter 33 of the Uniform Building Code for <br />determining the rating classification of a building, the <br />owner of any such building may file with the director a <br />floorplan of, and other supporting documents pertaining to <br />the building, indicating the various occupancies within, and <br />actual numbers of persons occupying the various portions of <br />the building, together with a written request that the <br />alternate determination of rating classification be used for <br />such building. Such floorplan and supporting documentation <br />shall be filed with the director no later than one hundred <br />and eighty (180) days from the date of service of the director's <br />order under Subsection(b) of Section 8-2.004. <br /> <br /> (b) ACTION BY DIRECTOR. Upon receipt of the floorplan <br />and supporting documents, the director shall investigate the <br />request. The director's investigation may include one or <br />more inspections of the building. Within thirty (30) days <br />after receipt of the floorplan and other documents, the <br /> <br /> <br />
