ORDINANCE NO. NS-1673 <br />PAGE FIVE <br /> <br />SECTION 4: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered 8-2003.5, which <br />said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-2003.5. Pre-Notice <br /> <br /> With respect to each building which the director has <br />placed into either classification III (medium risk) or <br />classification IV (low risk), the director shall file with <br />the office of the County Recorder of the County of Orange a <br />document, entitled "Pre-Notice," indicating that the building <br />is subject to the provisions of Santa Ana Municipal Code, <br />Article XI of Chapter 8, "Earthquake Hazard Reduction in <br />Existing Buildings." A copy of said recorded Pre-Notice <br />shall be served either personally or by first class mail, <br />return receipt requested, upon the owner of each affected <br />building as shown on the last equalized assessment role. <br />The purpose of the recordation of such Pre-Notice shall be <br />to advise all prospective purchasers and investors that such <br />building has been determined by the director to be subject <br />to the provisions of Article XI, Chapter 8 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code. No owner who has received such Pre-Notice <br />shall be required to undertake any action in response to <br />said notice. The recordation and service of such Pre-Notice <br />shall be in addition to the notice which the director is <br />obligated to record and serve under Subsections (b) and (c) <br />of Section 8-2004. <br /> <br />SECTION 5: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered 8-2004.1, which <br />said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-2004.1. Partial Repairs <br /> <br /> The time requirements for completion of work on a <br />building for the purpose of achieving compliance with the <br />provisions of this article may be extended for an additional <br />period of three (3) years for a medium risk, or Class III <br />building, or for an additional period of five (5) years for <br />a low risk, or Class IV building, provided that the owner of <br />any such Class III or Class IV building installs and/or <br />provides wall and floor anchors in accordance with subsec- <br />tion (c) of Section 8-2005 as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) The owner of such building applies for and obtains <br />all necessary permits from the director within one hundred <br />and eighty (180) days after service of the director's order <br />under Subsection (b) of Section 8-2004; <br /> <br /> <br />
