NS-1718 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 2-402 AND 2-404 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO DESIGNATE THE FIRE CHIEF <br />AS THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1~ That Section 2-402 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-402. Disaster council-Membership. <br /> <br /> The Santa Ana Disaster Council is hereby created <br />and shall consist of the following: <br /> <br />The mayor, who Shall be chairman: <br /> <br />The city manager, who shall be vice-chairman. <br /> <br />The fire chief or his representative. <br /> <br />The city attorney or his representative. <br /> <br />The departments~heads who have specific emer- <br />gency planning functions: Director of public <br />works, director of finance, police chief, and <br />director of planning and development services, <br />and such other department heads as may be ap- <br />pointed by the city manager. <br /> <br />Such representatives of civic, business, labor, <br />veteran and professional organizations as may <br />be appointed by the mayor with the advice and <br />consent of the city council, but not to exceed <br />five (5) in number. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That Section 2-404 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is amended to read as f0111ows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-404. Director of emergency services <br /> Powers and duties generally. <br /> <br /> The city manager shall be the director of emergency <br />services. The fire chief shall be the deputy director, who shall <br />act for the director in his absence. The director is empowered to: <br /> <br /> <br />
