NS- 1718 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br />February 6, 1984 <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />(6) <br /> <br />Request the city council to proclaim the <br />existence or threatened existence of a <br />local emergency and the termination <br />thereof if the city council is in session, <br />or if the city council is not in session, <br />to issue such proclamation subject to <br />confirmation by'the city council at the <br />earliest practicable time. <br /> <br />Request the governor to proclaim a "state <br />of emergency" when, in the opinion of the <br />director, the resources immediately available <br />to the City of Santa Ana are inadequate <br />to cope with the emergency. <br /> <br />Control and direct the effort of the emer- <br />gency organization of the city for the ac- <br />complishment of the purposes of this division. <br /> <br />Direct coordination and cooperation between <br />division services and staff of the emergency <br />organization of the city and resolve ques- <br />tions of authority and responsibility that <br />may arise between them. <br /> <br />Represent the emergency services organization <br />of the city in all dealings with public or <br />private agencies pertaining to emergencies. <br /> <br />Appoint a coordinator of emergency services <br />who, under the supervision of the deputy <br />director, shall be in charge of the office <br />of emergency services. He shall be respon- <br />sible for: <br /> <br />(a) Emergency planning, research and training. <br /> <br />(b) Daily emergency coordination and assist- <br /> ance to all staff agencies and citizens. <br /> <br />(c) Emergency operational readiness of all <br /> city activities. <br /> <br />(d) Such other related duties as appropriate <br /> to the office. <br /> <br /> <br />
