NS- 1721 <br />PAGE SEVENTEEN <br /> <br />Sec. 41-1005. <br /> <br />Signs located under <br />canopies or marquees <br /> <br /> No permit shall be issued for any sign to be lo- <br />cated under a canopy or marquee which does not comply with <br />the following standards: <br /> <br /> (a) The sign shall not contain anything other than an <br />identification of the business name of the activity occupy- <br />ing the portion of the building to which it is affixed. <br /> <br /> (b) No more than one sign shall De located at each <br />entrance into the business activity identified by the sign. <br /> <br /> (c) No part of the sign shall be located lower than <br />eight feet above ground level. <br /> <br /> (d) The area of the sign shall not exceed four square <br />feet. <br /> <br /> (e) The letters on the sign shall not exceed eight <br />inches in height. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-1006. <br /> <br />Window signs and awning signs. <br /> <br /> No permit shall be issued for any sign affixed to, <br />or incorporated into, an exterior window or awning unless: <br /> <br /> The total area of the signs affixed to the window or to <br />any one face of the awning does not exceed 25 percent of the <br />area of such window or awning face. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-1007. <br /> <br />Major building identification signs. <br /> <br /> Notwithstanding any other provision of this Ar- <br />ticle, a permit may be issued, pursuant to a planned sign <br />program, for a sign providing long-distance identification <br />of any building exceeding three stories or 50 feet in height, <br />or of the primary tenant in such a building, provided that <br />the following standards are met: <br /> <br /> <br />
