<br />vehicles owned by the City of Santa Ana to a hospital for medical
<br />care and for emergency services rendered to persons by paramedics
<br />and for emergency services and medical care rendered to persons
<br />by paramedics using City of Santa Ana owned paramedic vehicles
<br />or other City of Santa Ana Fire Department vehicles where the
<br />person is not transported by a city-owned paramedic or other
<br />fire department vehicle. The city council may establish such
<br />fees by resolution.

<br /> The fire chief shall notify the director of finance
<br />following such emergency transportation, medical care, or emerg-
<br />ency services, in writing, of the name and address of the
<br />person, date and time of the transportation, medical care or,
<br />emergency services performed, and such other information as may
<br />be required. The director of finance shall thereafter cause
<br />appropriate billings to be made.
<br />
<br /> Such fees for transportation, medical care and
<br />emergency services shall not be less than the average fees
<br />charged by c~mmercial ambulances for comparable services in
<br />the city.
<br />
<br /> The amount of such fees charged shall be deemed a
<br />debt to the city of the person or persons receiving said services
<br />and, if minors, their parents or guardians. Any person owing
<br />money shall be liable in an action brought in the name of the
<br />city for recovery of such amount, including reasonable attorney
<br />fees.

<br />SECTION 2: Sections 14-1, 14-2 and 14-3 of the Santa Ana
<br />Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as set forth in
<br />Section 1 of this Ordinance. Sections 14-4, 14-5, 14-7, 14-7.1,
<br />14-7.2, 14-7.3, 14-7.4, 14-7.5, 14-8, 14-9, 14-10, 14-11, 14-12,14-14,
<br />14-15, 14-16, 14-17, 14-19, 14-20, 14-21, 14-22 and 14-23 of the
<br />Santa Ana Municipal Code are hereby repealed. The Santa Ana
<br />Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding thereto Sections 14-18,
<br />14-25, 14-27, 14-30, 14-31, 14-32, 14-33, 14-34, 14-37, 14-40, 14-47,
<br />14-49, 14-51 through 14-78, inclusive, and 14-90 to read as set
<br />forth in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
