NS-1727 <br />PAGE FOUR <br /> <br />Section 10.210. <br /> <br /> No building shall hereafter be constructed which <br />exceeds fifty-five (55) feet in height, measured from <br />the pavement surface of fire department vehicular access <br />to the top of the floor surface of the highest story <br />designed for human occupancy, unless either: <br /> <br /> (a) The building complies with all the standards <br /> and regulations adopted pursuant to Chapter 3 of <br /> Part 2 of Division 12 of the Health and Safety <br /> Code of the State of California for a new high- <br /> rise structure, as defined in Section 13.210.of <br /> the said Health and Safety Code; or <br /> <br /> (b) The building is accessible to fire department <br /> laddering equipment and overhead hose streams on <br /> at least two .(2) sides, the height of which do not <br /> exceed the laddering capability of the fire depart- <br /> me nt. <br /> <br /> Sec. 14-30. Installation of Automatic Sprinkler <br /> Systems (Section 10.301(b)). <br /> <br /> Section 10.301, subsection (b), of the Uniform Fire <br />Code is amended by adding to said subsection the following <br />paragraphs: <br /> <br /> An automatic sprinkler system must be installed <br /> in buildings hereafter constructed, or when additions, <br /> alterations, or repairs are such as to require the build- <br /> ing to comply with all the requirements of the building <br /> code of the City of Santa Ana for new buildings, in either <br /> of the following circumstances:' <br /> <br /> (a) The building would require a fire flow <br /> of more than three thousand five hundred (3,500) <br /> gallons per minute if such system were not installed; <br /> <br /> (b) The building exceeds two (2) stories in <br /> height, unless the building is designed for Group R, <br /> Occupancies, as defined in the building code of the <br /> City of Santa Ana, or is a building or structure <br /> accessory thereto. <br /> <br /> <br />
