ORDINANCE NO. NS-1727 <br />PAGE NINE <br /> <br />State Historical Buildings Code, and the fire chief shall <br />coordinate his review with that of the director of planning <br />and development services in this regard. The fire chief may <br />impose alternative fire-protection requirements on building <br />changes within the scope of this section as appropriate <br />to maintain this standard and shall waive any require- <br />ment of this section which is inconsistent therewith. <br /> <br /> (4) The fire chief shall give priority to building <br />changes within the scope of this section which are sub- <br />mitted for his review by the Community Redevelopment <br />Agency. <br /> <br />Sec. 14-37. Fire Alarm Systems (Sec. 10.307(e)). <br /> <br /> Section 10.307 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to <br />add subparagraph (e) thereto to read as follows: <br /> <br /> (e) No fire alarm system that automatically telephones <br />the fire department shall telephone the department on any <br />public emergency telephone line. Any such system shall <br />telephone the department on specific lines and telephone <br />numbers that shall be designated for such purpose by the <br />fire chief. <br /> <br />Sec. 14-40. Building Maintenance and Housekeeping. <br /> <br /> Article 11 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended by adding <br />Division V, consisting of sections 11.501 and 11.502, thereto, to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> DIVISION V <br /> <br />BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND HOUSEKEEPING <br /> <br />Building Maintenance. <br /> <br /> Sec. 11.501. Ail buildings and premises shall be main- <br />tained in good repair, free from any condition that presents a <br />fire hazard or any condition which would add to or contribute <br />to the rapid spread of fire. <br /> <br /> <br />
