NS- 1745 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 6-628 THROUGH 6-630 <br />OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council heretofore adopted <br />Resolution No. 71-64 declaring that there is a need for a <br />housing authority and found that there exists in the City <br />unsanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accommodations and <br />a shortage of space and sanitary dwelling accomodations <br />available to persons of low income at rentals they can <br />afford; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council pursuant to California <br />Health and Safety Code Section 34290 declared itself by <br />Resolution No. 71-64 to be the commissioners of the housing <br />authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, by Ordinance No. NS- <br />1358, created a housing commission pursuant to Health and <br />Safety Code Section 34291, providing for the number of <br />members thereof, their terms of office and their qualifi- <br />cations and the method of their appointment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to amend <br />Ordinance No. NS-1358 to delete the provision requiring the <br />appointment of seven (7) members of the housing commission <br />from among the members of the human relations commission of <br />the City of Santa Ana and to provide for appointment, re- <br />moval, vacancies and terms of the members of the housing <br />commission. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 6-628 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6-628. Establishment. <br /> <br /> The housing commission is hereby created, con- <br />sisting of nine (9) members, including two (2) tenants. <br /> <br /> <br />
