REL: adg <br />4/15/85 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1773 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTION 2-107 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, PERTAINING TO THE DOWNTOWN <br />DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, TO EXTEND THE <br />EXPIRATION DATE THEREOF TO JUNE 1, 1987. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That Section 2-107 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-107. Downtown development commission <br /> <br /> (a) The city council may, from time to time, convene <br />as the downtown development commission to do any of the <br />following: <br /> <br /> (1) Prepare an analysis of economic changes <br />taking place in the downtown/civic center area. <br /> <br /> (2) Study and analyze the impact <br />growth upon the downtown area. · <br /> <br />of metropolitan <br /> <br /> (3) Plan and propose the construction, the <br />renovation, repair, remodeling, rehabilitation, <br />restoration, preservation or reconstruction of <br />public facilities, existing buildings, or resi- <br />dential dwelling units which may be necessary or <br />appropriate for the execution of plans which, in <br />the opinion of the commission, aid in the economic <br />growth of the downtown district. <br /> <br /> (4) Develop long-range plans, in cooperation <br />with the affected governmental corporations and <br />agencies which are chiefly responsible for planning <br />in the downtown, designed to halt the deterioration <br />of property values and to promote the economic growth <br />and take such steps as may be necessary to persuade <br />property owners to implement the plans to the fullest <br />extent possible. <br /> <br /> <br />
