ORDINANCE NO. NS-1811 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br />for the purpose of inspecting the installation and working of all <br />apparatus coming within the terms of this article and no person <br />shall interfere with the building official in making the <br />inspections or refuse to permit the building official or his <br />deputies to enter the premises for such purposes. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: That section 8-705 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-705. Penalties. <br /> <br /> (a) This code shall not be construed to relieve from <br />or lessen the responsibility of any party owning, operating, <br />controlling or installing any electric wiring, electric <br />deices or electric materials for damages to persons or <br />property caused by any defect therein, nor shall the <br />jurisdiction be held as assuming any such liability by reason <br />of the inspection authorized herein or certificate of <br />inspection issued as herein provided. <br /> <br /> (b) The building official is authorized to determine <br />the intent and meaning of any provisions of this code. <br /> <br /> (c) Any person violating any of the provisions of this <br />code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> (d) Every person violating any of the provisions of <br />this code shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for <br />each day or portion thereof during which, such violation <br />continues. <br /> <br /> (e) It is unlawful for any person, either as owner, <br />architect, contractor, artisan, or otherwise, to do or <br />knowingly contribute to any act or installation regulated in <br />this code in such manner that the same shall not conform to <br />all of the provisions of this code. <br /> <br />SECTION 4: That section 8-711 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-711. Permits--Required. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or <br />corporation to install, alter, repair, move, or convert any <br />electrical equipment regulated by this code, or cause the same to <br />be done without first obtaining a separate permit for each <br />building or structure, each dwelling unit, each condominium unit, <br />each office suite, and each unit in a commercial or industrial <br />building, from the building official. <br /> <br /> <br />
