ORDINANCE NO. NS-1811 <br />PAGE FOUR <br /> <br />SECTION 7: That section 8-717 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-717. Same--Penalty. <br /> <br /> Failure to obtain a permit and pay fees therefor before <br />commencing work shall be deemed evidence of violation of the <br />provisions of this code. Double the amount of permit fee plus a <br />$35.00 Special Investigation Fee shall be assessed for work <br />commenced before a permit is issued. <br /> <br />SECTION 8: That section 8-720 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-720. Same--Expiration. <br /> <br />(1) Every permit shall expire and become null and void <br />for any one or more of the following reasons: <br /> <br />(a) Whenever the electric wiring authorized by a <br />permit is not commenced within one hundred eighty <br />(180) days from the date of issuance of such <br />permit. <br /> <br />(b) Whenever the electric wiring authorized by a <br />permit has been suspended, abandoned or <br />discontinued for a continuous period of one hundred <br />eighty (180) days. <br /> <br />(2) Expiration of Plan Review. Applications for which <br />no permit is issued within one hundred eighty (180) days <br />following the date of application shall expire by <br />180-day limitation, and plans and other data submitted <br />for review may thereafter be returned to the applicant <br />or destroyed by the building official. In order to <br />renew action on an application after expiration, the <br />applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan review <br />fee. <br /> <br />SECTION 9: That section 8-721 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-721. Same--Revocations and suspensions. <br /> <br /> The building official may suspend or revoke any <br />electrical permit for any of the following reasons: <br /> <br /> <br />
