OO8 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1901 <br />PAGE FOUR <br /> <br />SECTION 7: That Section 8-405 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-405. Materials (Section 1004(a)). <br /> <br /> Section 1004(a) of the Plumbing Code is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, <br />copper, cast iron, galvanized malleable iron, <br />galvanized wrought iron, galvanized steel, lead or <br />other approved materials. Asbestos-cement, PE, or PVC <br />water pipe manufactured to recognized standards may be <br />used for cold water distribution systems outside a <br />building. All materials used in the water supply <br />system, except valves and similar devices shall be of <br />a like material, except where otherwise approved by <br />the administrative authority. PVC water pipe one-half <br />inch to one and one-half inch (1/2" to 1-1/2') in size <br />shall be schedule forty (40) pipe with schedule forty <br />(40) fittings. PVC water pipe two inches (2") and <br />larger shall be class PSI three hundred and fifteen <br />(315) or schedule eighty (80) with schedule eighty <br />(80) fittings. All materials used in the water <br />system, except valves and similar devices, shall be of <br />the same material, except where otherwise approved by <br />the administrative authority. <br /> <br />SECTION 8: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered § 8-406, which <br />section shall read as follows: <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />Sec. 8-406. Cleanouts (Section 406, Exceptions: No. 41- <br /> <br /> Section 406(a), Exceptions No. 4 of the Plumbing Code <br />is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />An approved cleanout fitting shall be installed <br />on every horizontal vent located below the floor <br />in the vertical portion of the vent located in <br />the wall and shall be accessible. Two-way <br />cleanouts will not be approved. Cleanouts to be <br />installed at upper terminals on all main and <br />branch lines. <br /> <br /> <br />
