ORDINANCE <br />PAGE FIVE <br /> <br />NO. NS- 1901 <br /> <br />SECTION: 9: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered S 8-407, which <br />section shall read as follows: <br /> <br />said <br /> <br /> Sec. 8-407. <br />1213(e)). <br /> <br />Installations of gas piping (Section <br /> <br />(e) Ail gas pipe protective coating shall be an <br />approved type, machine applied and conform to <br />recognized standards. All gas pipe with approved <br />coating installed underground will be subjected to a <br />test as approved by standards with an approved holiday <br />testor witnessed by the inspector. Field wrapping <br />shall provide equivalent protection and is restricted <br />to those short sections and fittings necessarily <br />stripped for threading or welding. Zinc coating <br />(galvanized) shall not be deemed adequate protection <br />for piping below ground. Ferrous metals in exposed <br />exterior locations shall be protected from corrosion <br />in a manner satisfactory to the administrative <br />authority. <br /> <br />SECTION 10: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered S 8-408, which said <br />section shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-408. Appliance connectors (Section 1214-(a)). <br /> <br /> Section 1214(a) of the Plumbing Code is amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Appliance connections shall, at no time, have a <br />diameter less than that of the inlet connection to the <br />appliance as provided by the manufacturer and each <br />appliance shall be rigidly connected to the gas piping <br />system with materials as provided in Section 1212. <br />Appliances located on the exterior of the building <br />shall be connected to the gas piping as provided in <br />Section 1213(m) of this Code. Listed metal appliance <br />connectors shall not be used outside. <br /> <br /> <br />
