ORDINANCE NO. NS-1903 <br />PAGE FIVE <br /> <br />SECTION 11: That Section 8-972 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 8-972. Flexible metal conduit shall not <br /> be used (1) in wet locations unless~cond~utors are of <br /> the lead-covered type or of other type specifically <br /> approved for the conditions; (2) in hoistways, other <br /> than as provided in Section 620-21; (3) in storage <br /> battery rooms; (4) in any hazardous location other <br /> than permf~ted in F~ections 501-4(b), 502-4 and 503-3; <br /> nor (5) where rubber-covered conductors are exposed to <br /> oil, gasoline, or other materials having a <br /> deteriorating effect on rubber; (6) for installation <br /> underground, exposed to moisture, embedded in masonry, <br /> concrete, adobe, plaster or similar finish; (7) where <br /> exposed to physical damage. <br /> <br />SECTION 12: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered § 8-973, which said <br />section shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 8-973. Junction, pull and outlet boxes to be <br /> accessible (Section 370-19). <br /> <br /> Section 370-19 of the National Electrical Code is <br />hereby amended by adding the following sentence::~ <br /> <br />There shall be a minimum of eighteen (18) <br />working~spa=e ~i~ all directions in front <br />boxes and pull boxes. <br /> <br />inches clear <br />of juncti(~n ~ <br /> <br />SECTION 13: .... ~.f any section, subsection, sentence, clause, <br />phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to <br />be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of <br />competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the <br />validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares that it would <br />have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, <br /> <br /> <br />
