020 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1903 <br />PAGE FOUR <br /> <br />shall be located in the bottom of the outside <br />foundation footing with minimum concrete encasement of <br />three (3) inches. One end of the electrode shall <br />extend out of the foundation adjacent to the equipment <br />to be grounded to permit the grounding conductor to be <br />secured by an approved method. The interior metal <br />water piping shall be bonded to the grounding <br />electrode, the grounding electrode conductor, or the <br />grounded service entrance conductor. <br /> <br />SECTION 9: That Section 8-943 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-943. Exposed work--General (Section 336-10). <br /> <br /> Article 336 of the National Electrical Code is amended <br />by deleting therefrom Section 336-10. <br /> <br />SECTION 10: That Section 8-961 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-961. Use of electrical metal tubing (Section <br /> 348-1). <br /> <br /> Section 348-1 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 348-1. Use. Electrical metallic tubing may be <br />used for both exposed and concealed work. Electrical <br />metallic tubing protected from corrosion solely by <br />enamel shall not be used. Electrical metallic tubing <br />shall not be used (1) where during installation or <br />afterwards, it will be subject to severe physical <br />damage; (2) for installation underground or in <br />concrete. Where practicable the use of dissimilar <br />metals throughout the system shall be avoided to <br />eliminate the possibility of galvanic action; (3) <br />electrical metallic tubing shall not be used where <br />exposed directly to the weather or excessive moisture; <br />(4) electrical metallic tubing shall not be installed <br />on or over any roof. All such conduit shall be <br />threaded steel rigid metal conduit or threaded steel <br />intermediate metal conduit. <br /> <br /> <br />
