<br />ORDINANCE NS-2141 <br />PAGE THREE <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />035 <br /> <br />crosswalks more than 80 feet long with no <br />intermediate refuge, or an abnormally high <br />proportion of large commercial vehicles. <br /> <br />(b) The director shall work cooperatively with <br />elementary school officials to develop "suggested routes to <br />school" in accordance with guidelines issued by the California <br />Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />SECTION 5: That sections 36-122, 36-123, 36-124, and 36-125 <br />of the Santa Ana Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 6: That section 36-126 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 36-126. <br /> <br />same-special circumstances. <br /> <br />In the event a location does not meet the standards set <br />forth in section 36-121 and the appropriate board of <br />education, within whose jurisdiction this intersection is, <br />feels that special circumstances warrant the placement of an <br />adult crossing guard at this location to protect the children <br />crossing to or from their elementary school, the board may <br />place an adult crossing guard at this intersection at its own <br />expense. In such event, the city will place such guards under <br />city police control and will provide them only with training <br />and supervision at city expense. <br /> <br />SECTION 7: That section 36-131 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 36-131. <br /> <br />parking signs and curb markings, color legend. <br /> <br />The director is authorized, subject to the provisions and <br />limitations of this chapter, to place and maintain and, when <br />required herein, shall place the following curb markings or <br />signs to indicate parking, standing or stopping regulations <br />and said curb markings and signs shall have the meanings as <br />herein set forth as follows: <br /> <br />(1) Red curb markings shall mean no stopping, standing <br />or parking at any time of any day except as <br />permitted by the Vehicle Code. <br /> <br />(2) Yellow curb markings shall mean no stopping, <br />standing or parking between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. <br />of any day, or, if a sign specifying a different <br />time period has been posted adjacent to the yellow <br /> <br />3 <br />
