ORDinAnCE NS-227 119 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />portion thereof is in violation of any ordinance or regulation <br />or any of the provisions of this code. <br /> <br />109.7 Inspections. It shall be the responsibility of the <br />owner or occupant whose action makes necessary the issuance of <br />a Certificate of Occupancy pursuant to this section to apply <br />to the building official for the inspection of the building or <br />structure or portion thereof as necessary to obtain such <br />Certificate. Each application shall be accompanied by the <br />payment of a non-refundable application processing fee and an <br />inspection fee, which shall be refunded if an inspection <br />proves to be unnecessary, in such amounts as shall be estab- <br />lished by resolution of the city council. The building <br />official and the executive director of finance and management <br />services shall establish procedures and forms to implement <br />this subsection. <br /> <br />109.8 Prohibition against falsification. No person shall <br />alter or reproduce a certificate of occupancy for the purpose <br />of circum-venting the requirements of this section. <br /> <br /> SECTION 9: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered 8-130, which said <br />section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-130. Special inspectors (Volume 1, Section 1701.2). <br /> <br /> Section 1701.2 of Volume 1 of the building code is amended by <br />adding the following: <br /> <br /> Special inspections shall be approved by the <br />building official. The building official shall require <br />registration with the building safety division prior to <br />approving an applicant. Each person applying for <br />registration as a special inspector may be required to <br />show competence by an examination. Applicants shall pay <br />a registration fee as established by city council <br />resolution. <br /> <br /> A registration card shall be issued to each such <br />applicant that the building official qualifies. A renewal <br />fee established by resolution of the city council for <br />each classification shall be due and payable on January <br />1 of each year thereafter, at which time the special <br />inspector may be subject to reexamination. <br /> <br /> The building official may revoke any special <br />inspector's certificate of registration at any time for <br />due cause by written notice. This notice shall set forth <br />the time and place for a hearing before the building <br />official, at which time and place evidence shall be <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
