City Hall, Santa Aaa,Cal. <br /> <br /> September 7, 1912 7. p.m. <br /> <br />The Board met. in regular adjourned session. <br /> <br />Present, Trustees, Alde~an, ~IcPhee, Greenleaf, Gx~bb~ <br /> <br />The Board called to order by President Frank ~y. <br /> <br />In Re Bids <br /> <br />for Garbage Collection <br /> <br />In Re Ordinance <br />No.$45,Tax Levy <br /> <br />In Re Remonstrance <br />on Pool Rooms <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Gambling Devices <br /> <br />and the Clerk. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of McPhee, Greenleaf and Dr.J.I. <br />Clark, a committee appointed to look up bids for garbage <br />collection, it was on motion of Greenleaf, duly seconded <br />and carried, ordered that the bid of Caulfield and Clary <br />be ~ccepted to-wit: $~50.00 per month in accordance with <br />Ordinance No.4~0 and to collecting in the residential <br />section of the City and $~.00.00 per ~onth in accordance <br />with Ordinance No.480 and one collection per week in the <br />residential section of the City. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney is directed to prepare contract and <br /> <br /> the contractors Caulfield & 01ary to submit a bond of $1000 <br /> for the faithful performance of the contract. <br /> <br />Ordinance No.~A§, an Ordinance of the City of Santa Aaa, <br />fixing the amount of money ascertained to carry on the <br />various departments of the City of Santa Aaa, and to pay <br />all the bonded indebtedness falling due for the current <br />year 191~.-15, and fixing the r~te of taxation for the <br />0urrent year of 191B-l~,designating the number of cents on <br />each $100 for the various funds of said~ City on the ta.~ - <br />able property of said City assessed by the City Assessor <br />of the City of Santa Aaa, and equalized by the Board of <br />Trustees of said City, and hereby levied on the taxable <br />property of said City, was read and on motion referred to <br />the City At'~orney. <br /> <br /> A remonstrance signed and presented by Mrs.J.R.Medlock <br /> <br />et al, against the action of the Board in issuing a pool <br />room, billiard and bowling alley license to H.A. Jones, <br />at 414, 416 North Main Bt~eet, and asking that the said ~ <br />action be rescinded, was presented. <br /> <br />On motion of Alderman seconde~ by Green.leaf and carried, <br />the 0ity Clerk is directed to notify H.A. Jones to be <br />present at the next meeting of the Board of Trustees and <br />to be informed as to the remonstrance against the pool roOm <br />license issued to him. <br /> <br />On motion of G~ubb, duly seconded and ca~ried, it is ordered <br />that it is the sense of this Board that T~ustee McPhee be <br />requested to divulge the names of the persons who are con- <br /> <br /> <br />
