On motion of MoPhee duly seconded and carried the Clerk is direoted to notify the Pacific Electric Railway Co.~ to use more care in operating their cars within the City limits and to conform with the speeA Ordinance. # The City Olerk is directed to notify the S.P.Ry Co and the A T & S FRy Co,to request use more care ~n lower~ ng gates on # their flagmen to East 4th Street. On n~otion the City Clerk is directed to notify the Southern Counties Gas Co.,to comply with die request of the Boemd relative to purchase of Gas franchise. # On motion the City Attorney is directed to notify the S.A.V I Co.,to cover their ditches in proper form on East 17th street and Santa Clara Ave. # The comm~ittee appointed to confer with the ~ro~er county officials ~elative to the sewer fron~ the Detention Home report County agrees to lay and cover pipe and City to furnish pipe. On motion the action of the Co~m~ittee is ratified. # The petition of Jack ~ller et al for cement curbs on East ~rd Street was granted and curbs are ordered ~n on both sides of East Third Street from Main Street to Breeden Street. # The petiticn of H g Smith et al to conm~ence proceedings to lay cement sidewalks and cement curbs on both sides of Washington Ave.,between the A T $ S FRy Co tracks and the S.P.Ry Co tracks was on motion referred to the Street con~mittee. The Supt. structed of Streets and the Street Con~mittee are in- to investigate with the view of purchasing a Street grader and report. # On motion off Greenleaf du~y seconded and carried,the City Clerk is instructed to notify the Edison Electric Company to install electric street lights at the following places; 1 at Bristol and Washington Streets. 2 on Baker north of Washington. 1 on Van Ness north of Hickey. 1 on Birch north of Hickey. # On motion the Street Supt. is instr~ed to request the Board of Supervisors to have hoboes clean u? streets a~ound the ~ourt House Grounds.
