Upon motion duly seconded and carried, that tho President appoint a committee to interview the Southern Counties Gas Co. with reference to laying gao pipe on East First St. tho President appointed Trustees MoPhoe and Maryatt as a committee. The petition of O.B.Webb of SO1 S.Biroh St., to remove · tree in the street parking was read and on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the emma is granted. A representative of the ~azarene Ohu~oh appeared before the Board protesting against the removal of walnut trees in the parking in front of their property on West Snd St., and upnn a vote same were ordered taken out ms soon as the walnut crop on trees is harvested. # On motion of Trustee MoPhee,duly seconded and carried, the Supt of Streets ia instructed to remedy the dip crossings a at Birch, Van Ness, and Patton on West 5th St., On motion of Trustes MoPhee, duly seconded and carried, the City Clerk is instructed to request the Home Telephone Co. to raise their poles on Spu~geon St., near the resi- dence of ~.Perkina in order that the wires will clear the tree top.,. On motion of Trustee McPhee, ascended by Tubbs and carried, the City Electrician is instructed to inspect the wiring in the Temple Theater building. Upon motion of Trustee McPhee, seconded by Tubbs and carried the Water Supt. ia instructed to supply the Santa Ana Poly- technic High School with water to irrigate the ground around the buildings ac as to be put in shape for planting shrubbery and grass; that no charge be made and that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up the proper contract with the under- standing that no precedent was being established. # On motion duly ascended and carried, that the President appoint a committee to confer with the school board in regard to rates and arrangements for heating the Poly High School with oteam heat from the Water Works plant. The President appointed Tmastees MoPhee and Greenleaf and Water 8upt.Reid on this committee.
