Co. in reference <br /> <br />to the $50.00 deposit held by the City covering the setting <br />of poles, anchors, excavating in streets, etc., asking that <br />they have the privilep $~ withdraw same was on motion of <br />Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, denied. <br /> <br />The application~of W.E. Beckwith and W.J.Shadel for refund on <br />their auto for hire license for $20.S0 each was on motion of <br />Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, granted <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />The applications of L.B.Smlley and A.J. Kuss for sm ~uto for <br />hire license accompanied by $10,O00 bonds each with Pacific <br />Coast Casualty Co. as sureties, was on motion of Trustee Tubbs <br />duly seconded by MoPhee and carried, license granted and bond <br />referred to the President for approval. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Maryatt and <br />carried, the petition of Mont Jackson, Chief of the Fire Dept. <br />for 15 helmets,12 tumn out coats and ~ pyrenes to equip one of <br />the trucks, was referred to a committee; the President appoint- <br /> <br />lng Trustees Greenleaf and Maryatt <br />The President on motion of Trustee <br /> <br />as the committee. <br /> <br />Greenleaf, duly seconded by <br /> <br />Tubbe and carried, &ppointed Trustees Greenleaf and Maryatt a <br /> <br />committee to make some settlement with the Southern Counties <br /> fire <br />Gas Co. for the 350 ft. of old, hose used by them during the <br /> <br />high water. <br /> <br />The report of S.H.Finley, Oivil Engineer in reference to con- <br />ditions of the outfall sewer and storm water drainage on West <br />First St., recommending first, that the outfall sewer line be <br />left on present grade and protected on the South side to pre- <br />vent undercutting, that all ordinary drainage water be con- <br />ducted into one opening under the sewer line at the end of <br />Newport drainage ditch. ~econd, that no attempt be made to <br />provide waterways across First St. large enough to carry unusu~ <br />flood waters but instead one or two small ourlverts and street <br />be well graded.
