Upon motion, duly seconded and carried, the City Clerk was instructed to open the bids received for' installing g?g feet of conduit for underground fire alarm system. The bid of Palmer Motor Shop Co. ,of 65 cts. per foot for less than 1000 ft. and 60 cts. per foot if more than 1000 ft. are used, this being the only bid received, was accept- ed and 60 days allowed to install same. Upon motion of Trustee Greenleaf and the following vote: Ayes Trustees Tubbs McPhee, Greenleaf, ~&aryatt and Visel. Noes, Trustees None. A petition signed by some of the abutting property owners to re-surface the pavement on Fifth Street from Bush to Broadway with asphaltum, was on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and carried, referred back to the petitioners. The committ~e appointed in reference to conditi6n of sidewalk on East Sixth between Lacy and Garfield reported, and on motion of Trustee Mazyatt, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried ordered cement sidewalks in on both sides of Sixth St., betwe Lacy and Garfield, and Street Supt. instructed to put in two gravel cross-walks. Upon motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the City of Seal Beach is granted permission to use Birch Park for a concert advertising the opening of the seasor. for said City. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by MoPhee and carried, an arrangement between the City and Hon. J.C.Burks manager of the Santa Aha Elks Band, whereby said band is to give 14 concerts during the summer, 13 to be paid concerts with one free, at $60.00 per concert, payable monthly.
