Board met in regular session. Meeting called to order by President Visel. Present, Trustees Tubbs, Greenleaf, Maryatt, Absent, Trustee McPhee. City Hall, Santa Ana, Cal. Eay 13, 1916, 7:30 Visel and the Clerk. In Re ~.~inutas Minutes of May 1st and 8th read and approved. In Re Oovin~'s Invitation In Re ~urf~ce E.lst St. puving In Re Fifth Et. ~¢-surfaoin~ In Re Permit Gus Ootzios In Re Petitions to pave Orange Avenue An invitation from the City of Covina asking the Board to be present on May 20th, 1916, on ~oca~ion of laying of the corner stone for the Masnolo Children's Home was on motion dui7 seconded ~nd carried, accepted with thanks. A communication signed by F.M.Grigsby, Geo.R.Smith and C.F.Bennett as a committee of abutting property owners on East First St., from the Santa Fe R.R. track to the City limits on the East, asking the Board the privilege to repair said portion of street with oil and gravel and to rescind the action by the Board taken May ~th, in reference to re-surfacing said portion of street with asphaltum, was on motion of Trustee Tuhbs,duly seconded h7 Maryat~and carried, granted. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and oarrle~ action on re-surfacing Fifth St. paving from Bush to Broadway was laid over for one week. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried Gus Go*zioe was given permission to stand his pop corn wagon in front of Roehm-Sylvester Co~e,.Itore on Spurgeon Street durin evenings and to stay at present ~%eee North side of Fourth and Bush, during days. Geo. A.Edgar was before the Board with a petition signed by some of the property owners to pave Orange Ave. with crushed rock and oil, same kind of pavement u put in on Walnut from Chestnut to Bishop, and stating that a majority would sign to go through to McFadden St., S.S.Finley filed a petition asking permission to pave said street from Chestnut to .B~ehop with cement concrete base, and asphalt wearing surface. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded and carried, no action was t~ken. President Visel appointed Trustees Tubbs and Maryatt as a committee to meet with property owners and decide what kind of pavement the majority wanted.
