Board met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President Visel. <br /> <br />Present, Trustees Tubbs, Greenleaf, Maryatt, <br /> <br />Absent, Trustee McPhee. <br /> <br />City Hall, Santa Ana, Cal. <br /> Eay 13, 1916, 7:30 <br /> <br />Visel and the Clerk. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />~.~inutas <br /> <br />Minutes of May 1st and 8th read and approved. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Oovin~'s Invitation <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />~urf~ce E.lst St. puving <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Fifth Et. ~¢-surfaoin~ <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Permit Gus Ootzios <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petitions to pave <br /> <br />Orange Avenue <br /> <br />An invitation from the City of Covina asking the Board to be <br />present on May 20th, 1916, on ~oca~ion of laying of the corner <br />stone for the Masnolo Children's Home was on motion dui7 <br />seconded ~nd carried, accepted with thanks. <br /> <br />A communication signed by F.M.Grigsby, Geo.R.Smith and <br />C.F.Bennett as a committee of abutting property owners on East <br />First St., from the Santa Fe R.R. track to the City limits on <br />the East, asking the Board the privilege to repair said portion <br />of street with oil and gravel and to rescind the action by the <br />Board taken May ~th, in reference to re-surfacing said portion <br />of street with asphaltum, was on motion of Trustee Tuhbs,duly <br />seconded h7 Maryat~and carried, granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and oarrle~ <br />action on re-surfacing Fifth St. paving from Bush to Broadway <br />was laid over for one week. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried <br />Gus Go*zioe was given permission to stand his pop corn wagon <br />in front of Roehm-Sylvester Co~e,.Itore on Spurgeon Street durin <br />evenings and to stay at present ~%eee North side of Fourth and <br />Bush, during days. <br /> <br />Geo. A.Edgar was before the Board with a petition signed by some <br />of the property owners to pave Orange Ave. with crushed rock and <br />oil, same kind of pavement u put in on Walnut from Chestnut to <br />Bishop, and stating that a majority would sign to go through to <br /> <br />McFadden St., S.S.Finley filed a petition asking permission <br /> <br />to pave said street from Chestnut to .B~ehop with cement concrete <br />base, and asphalt wearing surface. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded and carried, no action <br />was t~ken. President Visel appointed Trustees Tubbs and Maryatt <br />as a committee to meet with property owners and decide what kind <br />of pavement the majority wanted. <br /> <br /> <br />
