On motion of Trustee McPhee, Paul Griffin, was "hot dogs' on any between First and 4th Sts. duly seconded and carried, granted a free license to peddle of the streets,excepting 4th St. to install 149 lights On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the Southern California Edison Co. was granted permission under the supervision of the City Electrician an ornamental electric sign 4~ X ~ ft. with on each side in front of their place of business A communication from the Associated Charities asking the City to co-operate with them in a plan for the cultiva- tion of vacant lots by dependent families during the coming season under the following plan:let. The Ass~ciated Chari ties will furnish the necessary seed and will also furnish a manager or superintendent to oversee planting, watering and keeping the curb and parking of the lots free from~eede 2nd. the City to furnish free water for growing of the crop on lots and to also assume the expense of the first plowin and harrowing necessary to get the ground ready for culti- vation,not more than 15 lots to be cultivated during this year. This pla~ was on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt ~ carried. On motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Green-leaf and carried, City Engineer Bonebrake was instructed to amend Specifications ~ for providing a sealing coat on streets paved under the above Specifications. On motion duly seconded and carried,President Visel appointed Trustees Tubbs and McPhee & committee in refer- ence to a petition in regards to paving Maple from First to Chestnut and Walnut from Orange to Oak and report at next meeting. The motion of Trustee Tubbe that the President appoint a committee to act with the Sewer Supt. in reference to regulating the depth of sewer connections,was duly seoond~ by Maryatt and carried. Trustees Maryatt and Greenleaf were appointed as such committee.
