Ry.N.Main St. bridge <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />to Employ Engineer <br />E.L.Mayberry <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />~treet Light,~th & French <br /> <br />Ayes, <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />The following report wu made by the committee appointed in <br />reference to investigating the need of a new bridge on North <br />Main St., and a bridge on North Flower St., <br />the committee recommended that proceedings be commenced to <br />construct a re-inforoed concrete bridge on North Main across <br />the Santiago 0reek, said bridge to he not less than ~0 feet <br />wide and 200 feet long with sidewalks on either side ~ feet <br />wide, said bridge to be known as a span brdge with not more <br />than ~ spans, and that the surface of the roadbed be ac high <br />or hi~r than the present one. That the Pacific Electric Rwy. <br />occupy the center of the bridge and that they be requested to <br />use Trilby rails thereon. That the bridge be lighted with <br />ornamental l~ghts. Also recommend that when the bridge ie <br />constructed that the South approach be moved 60 feet to the Nor1 <br />also reoommend~ that there be constructed a bridge on North <br />Flower St. (formerly Nannah St.) across the Santiago Creek, eald <br />bridge to be not lees than 25 ft. wide and 150 ft. long, this <br />report on motion duly seconded and carried, wa~ accepted and <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee MoPhee that a committee be appointed to <br /> interview the P.E.R.R. officials in reference to the proportion- <br /> ate amount the railroad would pay for u~ing North Main St.bridge <br /> wa~ carried by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes,Trustees MoPhee, Greenleaf amd Maryatt, <br /> <br /> Noes, T~A~tees Tubbe and Visel. <br /> <br /> President ~isel appointing Trustees MoPhee, Greenleaf and <br /> Mary&tt as such committee. <br /> <br /> Engineer E.L.Mayberry of the firm of Mayberry and Parker, <br /> ~ngineers, wa~ before the Board and made the following offer <br /> in reference to building a bridge on North Main or.to ma~e a <br /> preliminary exaaination, to ~ake pencil designs, to estimate <br /> the coat with the undereta~ding if the bonds carried, his firm <br /> <br /> would be retained u architect to plam and supervise the <br /> building of the bridge amd to be paid 5 per cent of the cost <br /> thereof for oo~pensation. This offer was accepted on motion <br /> <br /> of Trustee Tubbs, and pa~eed by the following vote to-wit: <br /> Trustees Tubbe, Greenleaf and Vleel. <br /> Trustees McPhee amd Maryatt. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded and carried, the <br />Clerk was instructed to notify the SouthernCal.Edieon Co., <br />to remove the arc light at 6th & French to ~th and French, <br />and to install a center su~peneion ~O ~att lamp at 6th and Free <br /> <br /> <br />
