8ants And City Ball, March 3rd,1919, ?;90 p.m. Board met in regular session. Meeting called to order by President Vlsel. Present, Trustees Tubbe, McPhee, Greenleaf, Maryatt and the Clerk. Minutes of Feb. l?th, 18th and 2~th read and approved. Repaying ~he request of F.M.Dean for reinstatement to his old position a~ a member of the City Police Dept. was on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Oreenleaf and carried, ordered filed for future reference. The request of Wells & Bressler that the City give them the required stakes a~d elev~tion in order to pave Edingar St. according to their contract. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by MoPhee, the matter w~e referred to a committee Trustees MoPhee and Greenleaf being appointed as such committee. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Ma.ryatt and carried, several Canadian soldiers were granted a permit to give lectures and entertainment free of license. On motion of Trustee Tubbe, duly seconded by Greenleaf and oarrle~ a permit wa~ granted to A~lne & Hayes to lay a pipe line across B~letol St. near Falrview Ave. The monthly reports of the Building Inspector, Recorder,Marshal Fire Chief and the Clerk, were on motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Maryatt,referred to the Finance Committee. On motion of Trustee Greenlea~, duly seconded and carried, the committee appointed in reference to the offer ma~e by G.I.Bauer le continued. On motion of Trustee Tubbe, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the following committee report on conditions pertaining to re- paving of E. ~th from French to $.P. depot and Main from 20th to the S.P. track, was accepted a~d ordered spread on the minutes ' Santa And, March ~rd, l~l~. To the Hen. Board of T~uetees City of Santa And, Gentlemen:- Your committee appointed to investigate and report on the matter of paving North Main St. from 20th St. North to the 8outhern Pacific R.R. track and East ~th St. from French St. to the Southern Pacific R.R. track, beg to report as follows: First:- That there is absolutely no question a~ to the necessity for the renewal of the pavement on the streets referred to, a~ p&toh work would simply be a wa&ts of money. Second:- That the proposed street improvement will involve a considerable expense on the abutting property owners many of whom are people of moderate means who would doubtlessly be more or less financially embarrassed if forced to raise this money immediately. Third:- That this proposed street work, if ordered done by the present Board of Trustees could not be completed during their term of office, and for other reasons that might he mentioned your committee begs to make the following recommendatio:
