Santa Ana, June 2, Board met in regular saseion. Meeting called to order by President Mitchell. Present, Trustees Tubbs, Chapman, Dale and Greenleaf. Reading of the minutes of May 19th, read and approved. City Hall, 1919,?:30 p.m. In Re P1 ay grounds In Re SoldLe~s Welcome Committee In Re Pavin~ in In Re Dump Ground In Re Connecting County highway Northeast section of City A communication from the City Federation of Parent-Teachers Association requesting some finenoial assistance in con- ducting free summer playgrounds during the months of July and August, also asking that some provision be made for subsequent yesme towards having a municipal summer play- ground for the City. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Chapman, the matter was referred to a committee to report at next meeting, Trustees Greenleaf and Dale being appointed as such committee. A communication from the Soldiers Welcome Committee of Anaheim asking that a delegate be appointed to attend a conference at Anaheim,May 30th, to prepare a welcome for the return of said soldiers and sailors, The date having passed before any action could be taken, the Clerk was instructed on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Dale to write the committee and so state the fact and that the Board wiehe~ to co-operate with them in any manner possible. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Chapman, front of school property that a committee be appointed to confer with the School Board in reference to paving streets adjacent to school property, Trustees Greenleaf and Chapman being appointed am such committee. On motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconded by Dale and carried, City Attorney Scott was instructed to cb:aw up a contract with Mm. Frank Thorpe in reference to right of way to the property offered by him as a City dumping ground. On motion of Trustee Tubbs. duly seconded by Chapman, City Engineer Hoy is to give an estimate on the cost of connecting the pavement on Grand Avenue from 4th and East l?th between Grand Ave. and the East City Limits,Washington Ave. between the Santa Fe tracks and Grand Ave., and Water and Sewer Supt. Wray to report on conditions pertaining to Water and Sewer at the next meeting. In Re Auto tourist camp ground Mr.F.P.Nickey was before the Board in reference to using the City property on Flower St. adjacent to the bridge on the North for a puollc camp ground for auto tourists.
