Santa Aha, City Hall, <br /> <br /> Aug. 25th,1919, 7:3o p.m. <br /> <br />Board met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President Mitchell. <br /> <br />Present, Trustees Tubbs, Chapman, Dale, Greenleaf and Mitchell. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Highway Tr anspoz~at ion <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Pacific Tel.Franchlee Tax <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Bid for paving Maple Ave. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Bid for paving Grand and <br /> <br />Santa Clara Aves <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Permit Union Oil 0o. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application W.O.Shanke, <br /> <br />Gasoline tanks <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dale, duly seconded By Chapman and <br />carried, by the following vote, Ayes, Trustees Tubbs,Chapman <br />and Dale, Noes, Trustees Greenleaf and Mitchell, the <br />request of the Highway Transportation Co. for a permit to <br />operate an express and freight transportation service between <br />Los Angeles and this City was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Tubbe and <br />carried, the statement of the Pacific Tel.& Tel Co. showing <br />the amount of franchise tax due the City to be $1,280.18, <br />was accepted and placed on file and voucher deposited with <br />City Treasurer. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Tubbs, the <br />Clerk was instructed to open bide received for paving City <br />property on Maple Ave., one bid was received that of Steele <br />Finley, who bid the sum of 15~ per sq. ft. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Chapman, <br />the bid was accepted and on motion of Trustee Greenleaf, <br />duly seconded by Dale, property owners one-half block each way <br />shall stand the expense for the intersection at Walnut & Maple <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf, the <br /> <br />Clerk was instructed to open bids received for paving the <br /> <br />City's portion of Grand Ave from 4th to Santa Clara and & <br />portion of Santa Clara. Two bide were received, Wells & Bream er <br />bid as follows: Item 1. 15 and 6 tenths cents (O.156) per <br />sq. ft. Item 2. Twenty-two Dollars ($22.00) <br />Orange Co. Engineering& Construction Co. Item 1. Fourteen cenle <br />(14d) Item 2. Twenty Dollars ($20.00) <br />A motion ~Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Dale that <br />contractge awarded to the Orange Co. Engineering and Const.Co. <br /> <br />carried. <br /> <br />The application of the Union Oil Co. for a permit to move <br />their present gasoline service station from Broadway & 6th St. <br />to the Southwest corner of Broadway and 3rd ate. was granted <br />On mo&ion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Dale. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />The application of W.O.Shanks to install two 50 gel.tanks <br />underground, same to comply with Ordinance $642 was on motion <br />of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Dale referred to a <br />committee with power to act. <br /> <br />Trustees Dale and Greenleaf being appointed ae such committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
