Board met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Clerk. Present: Trustees J.W.Tubbs, C.H. Chapman, H.H.Dale, W.A.Greenleaf. Absent: Trustee John G. Mitchell. In Re President - Pro Tam Santa Aha City Hall. August 21st, 1922. 7:30 P. M. In the absence of the President, on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Dale and carried,. Trustee W. A. On motion of ~rustee ~ubbs, duly seconded by Chapman and carried, the request of the Hox~ton Furniture 0o. to han~ a canvass sign beneath present electric sign, was denied. On motion of Trustee Tubbs;, duly seconded by Chapman and carried, the request Of Chas. H. Ryan for per- mission to install a public weighing scale at 1V25 W. Fifth Street was referred to the Street Committee and Street Superintendent with power to act. The request of John C. Nelson, Evangelist, to erect tent at 2nd and Broadway for holding religious meet, ings, was, on motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconds by I~le and carried, referred to the Police Cormmitte~ The application of ~ L. Franks for permission to conduct a fruit, cold drink and lunch stand at 915 East Fourth Street was, on motion of Trustee ~le, duly seconded by Chapman and carried, refer~ed to th, Police Committee. On motion of Trustee Dale, seconded by Chapman and carried, the request of A. G. Thornton for the open- ing of a street from Fourth to Central ~venue betweex Grand and Eastside Avenues, was referred to the City Engineer to check over the ground. A protest against the installation of ~ filling sta- tion at MsFadden and Main Streets was read. motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconded by Tubbs carried, the protest was denied account permit ha~ing already been granted and work started.
