M. <br /> <br />~'.A.Greenleaf, <br /> <br />4th read and approved. <br /> <br />A cormnunication from the Directors of the Lions <br />Club of the City of Santa Ana requesting and <br />recommending a traffic officer at the main inter- <br />sectiormon Fourth Street during the rush hours each <br />day, especially on Sundays and holidays, was read. <br />On motion of Trustee Dale, duly seconded by Chapman <br />and ,Tarried, the matter was referred to the Police <br />Co~ittee and Chief of Police Jernigan. <br /> <br />A communication from the League of California <br />Municipalities asking this City to send representa- <br />tives to the League's next meeting to be held at <br />Palo Alto September 19th to 23rd inclmsive, was <br />read. On motion of Trustee Dale, duly seconded by <br />Chapman and carried, the matter was referred to <br />the Chair to take what action necessary. <br /> <br />0n motion of Trustee Oreenleaf, duly seconded by <br /> <br />Chapman and carried, the application of Jacob <br /> <br />Alpert for a pelwnit to conduct a J~nk business at <br /> <br />116 N. Snurgeon Street, was referred to the Police <br /> <br />Commit tee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by <br /> <br />Chapman and carried, the monthly reports of the <br /> <br />various city officers were referred to the Finance <br />Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, dttly seconded by <br />Dale and carried, the Clerk was ordered to draw <br />warrants on the Treasurer to cover the demands as <br />audited by the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Oreenleaf, duly seconded by <br />Dale and carl, led, President Mitchell was authorized <br />to sign the contract with Harper Brothers for a <br />land lease to be used by the City for dumping <br />rubbish and waste. <br /> <br /> <br />
