On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded b <br />Chapman and carried, t~e Buildin~ Inspector was in- <br />structed not to issue such a permit and Street Super- <br />~ntendent Dabl instructed uot to grant permission to <br />move s~e over the streets until the Cormnittee renort~ <br />upon the matter - T~ustees Tnbbs,Chspman aud Dale <br />being a~pointed ~s such Committee. <br /> <br />On motion o2 Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf <br />and carried, the Clerk's annual re~ort was accepted <br />and ordered published ~'cording to law. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dale, duly seconded by Tubbs and <br />carried, the Gem Electric Company was granted permis~ <br />to hang an electric sign for Carriker and Crowl at <br /> <br />40V West Fifth Street under the supervision of the <br />City Electrician. <br /> <br />~n motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconded by Tubbs <br />and carried, the Clerk was instructed to open bids <br />received for the construction of bank protection along <br />Santiago Creek at North Flower Street. One bid~wss <br />received, being that of the Merceresu Brid~e and <br />Construction Comr~any, who bid as follows: $845.00 <br />for furr~ishlng and driving twenty-seven pine or cedar <br />piles 24 feet long and to place thereon 160 feet of <br />Elwood fencing as per plans and specifications. On <br />motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Tubbs <br />and carried, the contract was awarded to the ComDany <br />and City Attorney instructed to prepare ueces~ary <br />contract. <br /> <br />Attorney Chas. SwaDner was before the Board with <br />reference to Ordinance No. 6~ pertaining to Snnday <br />closing of barber shops, claiming that th~ Ordinance <br />was unconstitutional and in conflict with State Law. <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by D~le and <br />carried, City Attorney Scott was instructed to prepare <br />an Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 6R. <br /> <br /> <br />
