Harby to do private cement sidewalk and curbing was referred to the Chair and City E~ngineer. A petition si~ned by a number of property owners askir that that portion of West Third Street betweE and Forrest Avenues and that portion on Forte between Third and Fourth Streets be improved concrete pavement, subject to the ten year p~ plan of the Bond Act of 1915, was read, and of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Dale and same was referred to the City Engineer. Pacific Avenue ~ith ~ent motion tried, A petition signed by a number of property owners on French Street between Fifteenth and Seventeenth Streets asking that the above portion of French Street be im- proved with six inch concrete pavement with belt finisk wearing surface, wss read, and on motion of Trustee Greenlsaf, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, the matter was referred to City Engineer Knox. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, seconded by Chapman and carried, the Board rescinded its former action in reference to improving Van Ness Street from Fifth to Hickey with gravel and oil, and Street S~perintendent Dahl was instructed to proceed according to the Con- tract of agreement by the property owners. On motion o~ Trustee $~lapman, duly seconded by Green- leaf and carried, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for furnishing the Water Department with ptunp, as per plans and specifications on file in the Water ~Super!ntendent's office. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Tubbs and Carried, the Orange County Engineering and Construction Company were granted an extension of thirty days time to finish paving the Lincoln School property abutting on French Street and the Upurgeon School on Cubbon Street, according to their contract. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Tubb$ and carried, Street Superintendent Dahl was instructed to accept the offer of Knox and Stout for a Ford truck on the basis of $300.00 down and $200.00 per month rental.
